Learn to use data to make complex business decisions with the STEM-designated Master of Science-Business: Operations and Technology Management: Business Analytics. You’ll use cutting-edge tools to hone your analytical skills and business acumen. This one-year Wisconsin School of Business program prepares students to seize opportunities in the fast-growing world of turning data into decisions.
The curriculum includes:
Data acquisition, analysis, and visualization
Machine learning, experimental design, and optimization
Descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical approaches
R/Python/SQL/Tableau
You will also benefit from experiential learning through real-world consulting projects, and choose electives from various industry-specific analytics courses.
Prerequisites:
1. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of business fundamentals, completed or expected completion, by start of program. Coursework can be completed at any accredited university or college.
Applicants may fulfill this requirement in one of the following ways:
(1)Undergraduate degree with business major or minor
(2)A Certificate in Business
(3)A minimum 3.0 GPA in intermediate college coursework covering at least two of these business disciplines:
Marketing
Operations
Finance
Accounting
Management
(4)General Business 310 or 311 at UW-Madison. Applicants may complete these courses online during fall, spring, or summer as a special student.
(5)At least one year of full-time work experience in one of the business disciplines mentioned above
2. Completion of one semester of business calculus or equivalent.

2. Standardized test scores:
(1)GMAT or GRE test scores;
(2)TOEFL or IELTS test scores; Applicants whose native language is not English or whose undergraduate instruction was not in English must complete either the Internet-based (100 or higher); Results of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or PTE (Pearson Test of English, institution code: NML-ZH-25) will also be accepted. An IELTS minimum score of 7.5 or higher, or a PTE Internet-based score of 73 or higher or paper-based score of 80 or higher, are required.
